Southern Fried Apples

Southern Fried Apples

Perfect as an addition to breakfast, or an after dinner snack, I’ve been making southern fried apples since I was an 11 year old in Philly. Back then of course I was just fooling around in the kitchen, but I later learned my “soft sweet apples” were Southern Fried Apples in disguise.

What you’ll need:

  • 1-2 Granny Smith apples
  • 1-2 TBS cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 TBS butter

What you’ll do:

  1. Melt butter in a pot
  2. Add cinamon & sugar
  3. Peel & slice apple(s)
  4. Add apples to sugar mixture
  5. Stir
  6. Cover and let simmer over medium heat.
  7. After about 10 minutes the sugar should be melted and the apples soft.
  8. Plate and enjoy!
